Jay-Z: The Blueprint 3 Review and concert tickets

Today, I woke up at 08:50 to get my computer on and ready to purchase my tickets for Jay-Z's concert at The Roundhouse in Camden. Set to be an intimate affair - I anticipated a lot of competition for the tickets, but I wasn't expecting it to be quite as impossible as it turned out.

08:55 - I brought up both Ticketmaster and The Roundhouse websites and proceeded to refresh them as the tickets were on sale from 09:00.
08:59 - The "Buy Now" buttons come live, I click through
09:01 - "Sorry the tickets you've requested can no longer be found" I continued to refresh
09:02 - I get through! Fill in my payment details and click confirm
09:03 - "Sorry, maximum time exceeded, the tickets you've requested are no longer available.

Seriously!?! Sold out in under 2 minutes? Who's THAT quick!?

Disappointment aside: last week, I was lucky enough to get a full listen through of The Blueprint 3 and to say I was impressed would be an understatement. On Blueprint3 Jay-Z has provided the antithesis to today's "Hip-HopLite" scene. On the album's lead single "Death of Autotune" Jay-Z makes his statement loud and clear:
"I know we facin a recession
But the music yall makin gonna make it the great depression
Ah, or your lack of aggression
Pull your skirt back down, grow a set men"
This album is packed with great features (my favourite being Pharrell on "So Ambitious") strong beats, catchy hooks and is solid lyrically - as you would expect from a Rap Artist that has commanded the respect of Hip-Hop fans, Artists and Producers for the past decade and having released 10 Number one selling albums since 1996.

With the speed at which his Roundhouse Tickets sold out and the high ticket prices of his hotly anticipated concerts with Cold Play; 2009 is shaping up to be yet another huge year for New York's heavyweight lyricist.

The Blue Print 3 is appropriately set for release on September 11th. I kid you not, this album will be a classic and is definitely worth the purchase.

Don't miss out.
